New !!
  <County Results>

Our 3rd annual half marathon took place on Sunday and what a great day we had, the weather was perfect and the atmosphere was electric; thankfully the water levels had dropped and the course was clear.

The club and I'm sure all the runners would like to thank everyone who supported the event, the wonderful marshals, time keeps and the organisers, without you the day wouldn't have been possible. If you enjoyed the day or would like to make any suggestions for next year then you can leave feedback on our runners world event page <click here>, you can also view the results and photos using the events link above or visit www.yourraceday.co.uk for the official pics.

Finally we would like to offer our condolences to the friends and family of Stuart Wild from Black Pear Joggers who sadly passed away on Friday. It was good to see such a big turn out from the club members who devoted their race day to his memory.

Bromsgrove Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research 10 K Fun Run Sunday 12th
Includes 5K run
We held our first Fun Run in 1989 at Barnsley Hall and this year we will be organising our 25th at Bromsgrove Rugby Club. It is very touching to see runners who have taken part year after year, raising money for LLR. We also have continued support from Bromsgrove Athletic Club and our sponsor, Altered Images.

All runners in both the 10k and 5k will receive a medal and fundraisers will get a commemorative t-shirt.

Remember that the 5k route follows the canal for part of its route and children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. It is a Fun Run and can be walked. The 10k route is more challenging and attracts runners from a wide area.

Redditch 12k
Summer series mid week 2 of 4

Wednesday 12th
<Results>

The second run of the Midweek summer series, some say the best of the four - but I wouldn't !!.  This deceptive 12k multi terrain run is usually accompanied by the rain with lots of mud and will have you wishing it was only 1 lap (but it isn't). Seriously this is good race but just remember the extra mile and a bit before sprinting to the finish.

Rotary Challenge (14 miles)
Quarry Challenge (10k)
Dolgoch Challenge (5.5 miles)
Tynllwynhen Challenge (3.5 miles)

Rotary Challenge

The minimum age for this race is 18 on race day

This is the Race that we started with when we initiated the event in 1984. It is approximately 14 miles long. This is the classic start on the crest of the main railway line bridge adjacent to the Talyllyn Railway station. Both the runners and the train are started by the train whistle ordered by the timekeeper. The course, which is on public roads for just over a mile, runs through the town before heading for Brynglas.

Good male runners can normally BEAT THE TRAIN that takes approximately 1 Hour 47 minutes but Ladies find it more difficult and about 3 will manage to do this.

Check on the website for more details.

If any Droitwich Members are interested can you contact Pete ASAP as transport will be organised if we get the numbers.

The race will be run over a circa 5.8 mile loop following the Severn Way along the river until Hallow then returning back to Holt Castle through a mixture of fields, footpaths and very quiet lanes. The course is well marked and marshalled, easily navigable and relatively flat.

Kenilworth Half Marathon Sunday 1st
Race Full

Kenilworth Runners are pleased to announce that the Kenilworth Half Marathon, sponsored by Towergate Insurance, will be once again returning to the Warwickshire countryside on Sunday 1st September 2013. This year the race is part of the Warwickshire Road Race league and also hosts the County Half Marathon championship.

The Kenilworth Half Marathon follows a pleasant course through the Warwickshire countryside and is popular with runners of all abilities each year, recently being voted into the prestigious Runners World Top 50 races list where the event was praised by the magazine for 'efficient organisation, a friendly atmosphere and a scenic but undulating out-and-back course'.

We anticipate again reaching full race capacity this year and therefore strongly recommend that you get your entries in early to secure your place and avoid disappointment.

We don't give a medal for our race, but you'll get a generous goody bag & a superb technical t-shirt for your efforts - See more at: <Link>

Wye Valley trail Full Marathon and Half Marathon.
Sunday 8th
The Wye Valley provides stunning scenery and none more so than at Symonds Yat where we present this fabulous Marathon and Half Marathon taking in the forests of the Forest of Dean and the river tow paths between Symonds Yat and Monmouth.

Starting at Bracelands Adventure Centre in the heart of the forest there is an opening 7km loop on relatively level forest trails before a long descent to the River Wye, turning towards Symonds Yat and a steep climb up the valley sides then returning to the start where the half marathon is complete.

The marathon descends once again to the River Wye but this time turns towards Monmouth and approx 15km of flat tow path running before the sting-in-the-tail a second long climb to the finish.

The marathon can be tackled as a team relay consisting of teams of 4 runners. The relay distance range from 5 to 7 miles in distance.

The Night Owl run on Saturday evening gives you a chance for a fun warm up if you are local or staying over in a hotel or camping at Bracelands - run through the forest as it gets dark with the aid of a head torch - last year an Owl really dip hoot just as we set off.
