Proposed changes to the Tuesday and Thursday groups will come in to effect on 1st June - details to follow shortly.
(hold on to your hats)
We officially get together twice a week for club training runs, generally meeting in the rear car park of the Droitwich Leisure Centre (Map) and occasionally during the lighter nights from Gaudet Luce golf club (Map).
As from the 1st of June the two Tuesday run groups (6pm and 7:20pm) will be merging into one larger group, and will being meeting at 7pm at the front of the sports centre. The group will then be split to suit people's speed and ability, with the number of groups depending on how many turn up. Each group will have a lead runner who will set the pace and distance for that evening , and will hopefully help members feel more confident to increase their performance by move between the groups to match their training needs.
Tuesday - 6pm (currently until 1st June)
We usually cover 6 -7 miles within the hour at a 8:30 - 9 min / mile pace. We run both off and on road routes, all depending on the weather and how light it is.
Tuesday - 7:20pm
This is suitable for beginners or maybe those returning from an injury. The group is for absolutely anybody who can run (run/walk), there is no minimum pace or distance.
Please contact Pete about either of the above run groups by email: firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone 0775 222 8741
Thursday - 6:20pm
Some changed will be introduce on the 1st of June to hopefully make the Thursday group more beginner friendly. From this date we will endeavour to ensure there will be two lead runners, one will be there aimed at a more beginner friendly pace / distance, and the the other will lead the group as normal (6-7 miles and a 8:00 - 8:30 min/mile pace). no changes have been made to the time or meeting point.
Current run group until 1st June.
Again meeting in the rear car park of the sports centre, the group is similar to the Tuesday 6pm one, where we plan on covering between 6 -7.5 miles in the hour with a similar 8:00 - 8:30 ,min /mile pace. In the summer we mainly choose to run off road, but some of the crazy ones continue this in the winter months with head touches.
You can just turn up, or you can email Scott at email@example.com for more information.
Outside of these times many members arrange extra runs either longer distances or at a quicker pace, just for fun or preparation for an upcoming event.
Sunday cycling, during the warmer weekends often on a Sunday morning, a couple of us choose to give the knees a rest and adopt our Wiggins sideburns by cycling around the lovely Worcestershire countryside. We do anywhere between 30 to 60 miles depending on whos navigating. Open to anyone with a bike - the more people we have the more it feels like the tour de France.
